Students, teachers and anyone interested in getting an overview of the many aspects of water is welcome to visit the Public Show “WASsERLEBEN” in hall 2.1 from 3-7 April, 2006.

At “WASsERLEBEN” organizations and institutions dealing with water demonstrate what is important and interesting about water in a fun and exciting presentation designed to stimulate visitors to reflect and act.  Here, visitors can experiment and practice, and get answers to questions concerning living with and around water.

The focal point of this show is the exhibition “Water is the future” presented by VDG - Vereinigung Deutscher Gewässerschutz (German Association for Water Protection). This traveling exhibition provides a comprehensive overview of the threat to and protection of the natural resource in an interactive demonstration of how we all can contribute to the protection of water.

Also worth a visit is the joint presentation of the work by schools from Berlin and Brandenburg. With experiments from science classes, students increase the visitors’ awareness of the sensitivity of this multi-facetted natural resource. What is the water hardness? Which organisms can live in which sort of water? Where in nature can I find water – in addition to rivers, lakes and faucets?

The association Naturschutzzentrum Oekowerk e.V. presents its work about  development of the water area around Berlin in conjunction with the senat administration for local development.
