Classic Lounge

|
As in previous years classical music is well represented at Popkomm 2008. Once again the genre is present in all the three Popkomm areas of Exhibition, Conference and Festival. Central meeting point for the branch at the exhibition halls is once more the revered “Classic Lounge”. National and international labels, publishers, associations and classical music media have a solid forum in which to present themselves. Last year the Naxos label, Klassik Radio and trade magazine Fono were there. On the many country stands classical music was prominently represented. The renowned Icelandic pianist Nína Margrét Grímsdóttir previewed her latest CD during Popkomm. A total of 60 Popkomm exhibitors were offering classical music as part of their catalogues in 2007, a notable increase on the previous year. The classical music branch’s overture for their meeting in Berlin is again the Popkomm Yellow Lounge in cooperation with Universal Classics & Jazz.
