 Messe Berlin is a service company specializing in the organization of regional, national, and international trade shows, exhibitions, and conventions. With a program of nearly 80 international trade events taking place at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds each year, Messe Berlin ranks as one of the world's top ten exhibition companies. The trade show and convention industry is a key economic factor in the Berlin-Brandenburg area. It attracts significant buying power and brings in additional tax revenues. Trade shows and conventions play an important part in Berlin's role as an international center of communications and commerce.

Messe Berlin's most important events are the IFA Internationale Funkausstellung Your World of Consumer Electronics, the ITB Berlin International Tourism Exchange, the International Green Week Berlin and ILA - the International Aerospace Exhibition Berlin-Brandenburg.

In addition, the InnoTrans - the International Trade Fair for Transport Technology and the FRUIT LOGISTICA, International Trade Fair for Fruit and Vegetable Marketing provide informative communications and contact forums for trade visitors and the general public.

Co-operation / Partnership EU projects

Trans-national, jointly organised trade fairs provide a valuable platform for promoting the process of EU integration. Trade fairs are a good opportunity for the representatives of European companies to meet and thereby create opportunities for new developments. Furthermore, trade fairs provide support for private enterprise, and especially for small and medium-sized companies, thus making them an effective instrument for promoting regional and national economic development.

To gain insight into the new 6-year funding period which starts in 2007 Messe Berlin and Zagreb Fair have organised the EU Practical Forum for the Trade Fair Industry. The very first meeting took place 6th - 7th September 2006 in Zagreb / Croatia.
