In the ITB Business Travel Forum in Hall 7.1b, supply and demand for the business travel sector shall meet; here, the exhibitors can positively strengthen their customer retention and make new business contacts. Selected exhibitors shall act in an advisory and informative capacity to all visitors of the centrally located forum.
With this five-day comprehensive supporting program, the Messe Berlin is reacting to the large need for current industry information and continuing education: in continuation with the established cooperation with the VDR-Akademie, the following thematic topics shall be presented:
Under the motto “Know your markets and perspectives”, the new two-day Global Business Travel Executive Days (Thursday, March 9th and Friday, March 10th) shall be specifically directed to international decision-makers in the business travel sector: From prominent keynote speakers and presentations on the most important market surveys to panel discussions with invited experts, this congress element is directed at international travel managers with leadership responsibilities. The themes include current prevailing conditions for business travel, purchase strategies in travel management and purchasing groups.
Practice-oriented workshops for the professional routine shall be presented on two other days (Saturday, March 11th and Sunday, March 12th) at the ITB Business Travel Days. The target groups for these Business Travel Practice Days, including workshops from the VDR-Akademie, are travel managers as well as team assistants and secretaries, who are active in the field of business travel. “Better management of small and medium travel budgets” is the goal. The themes are designed to be “hands-on”, including for example event management, comparison of the conditions, credit cards, travel cost accounting and travel agency bid invitations.
The also brand-new Business Travel Junior Day (Wednesday, March 8th) shall deliver a substantial service for the young professionals and professional entrants in the industry: since more and more companies are demanding more complex services from specialist travel agencies, the demand for qualified personnel and new ideas is increasing. Even in universities, interest for travel management is growing, confirming this abovementioned trend. Yet, until now, continuing education, networking and recruitment have never converged in a business travel trade fair. The advantage of such a platform is quite obvious, since assisting young professionals and integrating young idea providers early on secures innovation and potential for the industry on a long-term basis. With the Business Travel Junior Day (only on Wednesday, March 8th), the ITB Berlin shall embark on a very promising journey.
