Mobile Web2.0 – Web plus mobiles for new applications
Fraunhofer FOKUS, Offene Kommunikationssysteme OKS
Stand 02
Web 2.0 flexes up the world of mobile, location-dependent services and
apps. Cutting-edge research is now developing the kind of applications
that can do anything from help you find your feet in the urban jungle
of a strange city to help you locate a lift-share when you’re
already on the move. Fraunhofer FOKUS now presents a software solution
that turns the Web into a platform for mobile Web 2 apps, and
harmonizes tried and tested Web tools with the strengths and weaknesses
of mobile telephony.

OpusUna: Work together – Work as One. Enriching the human
sensory experience of situational web applications in live meetings
Situational Applications provide rich information and data
visualization aids for decision-oriented meetings. The Cooperative Web
extends these applications with mediated collaboration as well as
real-time streaming high-definition video. IBM OpusUna replicates the
power of face-to-face communications by injecting the full range of
sight, sound and touch into live web meetings. Attendees can augment
their meetings with shared manipulation of situational applications.
Colleagues and friends can now work together using the web without
sacrificing the human sensory experience of face-to-face communications.

3D Blog – Enriching Blog with 3D Viewpoints
National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), Japan
Stand 11
The 3D Blog system allows a user to interact with a 3D model, annotate
any spot on the model, and publish the annotations in a blog so that
the user can easily communicate with other people and share idea about
3D models of interest to the user. Since each annotation is saved as a
blog entry with "3D viewpoint information," readers of a 3D Blog can
understand the blog entry better by reconstructing the exact same 3D
scene the blogger saw when reading it.

Extended Fitting Rooms – Enter a New Generation of Mirror Images
Fraunhofer HHI
Stand 17
The Fraunhofer HHI shows a system which enables a user to view himself
wearing virtual clothes without the need to actually try them on. Our
“Virtual Mirror” offers this experience. A camera captures
a moving person and estimates the clothing’s deformations and
illumination. Another texture is augmented onto the garment. So the
user seems to wear the virtually textured clothing. Any additional
equipment is not needed. The framework combines real video and virtual
computer generated content with highly realistic appearance.

Digital Music Finder – New ways through the music jungle
Fraunhofer IDMT
Stand 18
Creating playlists with just one click or intelligent filtering of
multimedia content – the technologies of Fraunhofer IDMT help you
to manage your music collection. So called content-based metadata is
automatically extracted from multimedia data itself, enabling distinct
applications such as the search for music using semantic queries such
as “country music, but not too fast, with female voice”. In
addition, the user can receive personalized recommendations of similar
music.
