Special exhibitions at IFA

In addition to the displays at exhibitors’ stands, numerous special shows offer visitors to the IFA an opportunity to find out about high-profile brands, new products and exciting innovations.

The highlights were:

The most expensive sound system in the world (TADW)
At this year’s IFA, the HiFi, surround sound and music magazine AUDIO is again presenting the ”most expensive sound system in the world". This high-end ensemble is a major attraction for the public. HiFi enthusiasts and home cinema fans can experience what the most expensive and complex audio-video system which the market has to offer with their own eyes and ears.

IFA Family Playground
The special show topic “Use of the media in the family“ provided information and inspired entire families. Different media such as TV, radio, the print media and the internet could be discovered and experienced together. What are the most suitable media and formats for daily use, in particular by our children? Where are the potential risks? It presented information, suggestions and surprising facts in a display area covering 400 square metres.

Plus X Award
Presented by TV SPIELFILM, the Plus X Award Hall of Fame covered 1,100 m², which is where Europe’s largest technology contest let audiences experience winning products from the CE and home appliances world.

Satellite Navigation Theme Island – from connect, autohifi and autoconnect
The magazines connect, autohifi and autoconnect presented all kinds of sat-nav systems for mobile telephones on their stand. Visitors were able to find out about the various types of mobile phone and software from information boards providing details of prices, functions, compatibility and lots more.

COLORFOTO Theme Island
This theme island focused mainly on giving advice to visitors on a wide range of topics to do with photography. At various workshops such as “An easy guide to taking snap shots“ or “Using your camera flash correctly“ interested visitors found out more about these topics.
IFA CaseCon exhibition
CaseCon combines skill, art and creativity. Using innovative ideas, lots of imagination and skill, talented amateurs full of energy put together amazing creations which often are only recognisable as CE or IT products at second glance. The IFA 2008 put modified CE devices on display which once again attracted a lot of attention from expert audiences and interested members of the general public.

Taiwan Excellence Pavilion
Presenting the 2008 Taiwan Excellence Award, 2008 iF Product Design Award, 2008 Red Dot Award winning products. Visitors were fascinated by the creativity and design of Taiwan!
