Hits and stars at IFA 2008 Summer Garden - the daily programme
The
Presenters: Inka
is one of RTL TV’s most in demand presenters with her successful
TV shows „Unser neues zuhause“ (our new house) and
„Bauer sucht Frau“ (farmer wants wife). Another large
entertainment show is also planned. She is also a singer and has a
strong fan base. She is fresh, youthful and has a lust for life which
can be seen by all when she presents this year’s Hits and Stars
in the IFA Summer Garden.
Jürgen Karney presented in his TV shows 80s pop
music. Until recently his morning shows were the most popular radio
shows in Berlin and Brandenburg. He knows the hits and the stars and
will be presenting them together with Inka in the Summer Garden.
Saturday, 30 August - 12.30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
LOONA - Latin-Pop Superstars
With their chart success with “Bailando” Loona are
the epitome of Latin-Pop. Their song was number one in the German
charts for weeks going gold and then platinum. They have also received
two Echo awards (German equivalent of the Grammys). One factor to
Loona’s success is their amazing live performances. Top quality
professionally choreographed dancers and spectacular acrobatics provide
an exciting show.
Jive talkin’ - Porträts of the BEE GEES
They look like the Bee Gees and they sound like the Bee Gees. Jive
Talkin’ are a Bee Gees cover band that let you relive the classic
moments from the brothers Gibb such as disco favourites Stayin’
Alive, Night Fever and pop evergreens such as Massachusetts and Tragedy.
Chin Meyer - Comedy
In his programme “Der Jubel rollt” Chin Meyer
plays a tax inspector called Treiber who, as a self-styled advocate of
the people, seems to have misinterpreted the role the state wishes him
to have. Potential clients can come along to informative evenings and
find out some home truths from the financial world.
The TenDance Company
Berlin is always at the fore for trends and creativity and its dance
scene is also booming. The “TenDance” company show the
different dance routines that pop stars use in their videos such as
Jazz dance and Hip-Hop.
Sunday, 31 August - 11:00 - 12:00 a.m.
Frank Schöbel
Germany’s own “Frankie Boy” has been in the
business for a long time and still appeals to all generations with a
solid fan base that reflects this. He was a major player in the former
GDR notching up hits and evergreens that are still played today and
well loved all over the German speaking world. In 1989 Frank
released a song called “Wir brauchen keine Lügen mehr", (we
don’t need any more lies) which was not so well received by the
party functionaries of the time!
A-Live
If your knowledge of a capella music stops with the Comedian
Harmonists then either you’re not on the ball or dead – or
both! A capella has arrived in the 21st century and no one has made the
leap better than the boys from a-live.
The only similarities with the band from the 20s are the black suits,
white shirts and bow ties. The music is totally different. Modern pop
songs, rock ‘n’ roll classics, Hip-Hop and a touch of
Beethoven can be heard from this powerful band that also have a sense
of humour. Look forward to a great show from the boys!
Monday, 1 September - 2.00 - 3.30 p.m.
Mayors Destiny
They got off to a great start with their debut single “Cross Your
Heart” and it has been in the German airplay Top 100 charts for
over 3 months now. They’re enthusiastic, have a great sound and
to round things off look good as well. A pretty good mix then to
enthuse the media and audiences alike! The German/British female
quartet has been compared to the Dixie Chicks and Wilson Phillips in
the press reflecting the high regard in which the girls are currently
held.
With their latest single “If You Catch Me Out” it is plain
to hear that Mayor’s Destiny have developed their own
unmistakeable sound mix of acoustic and electric guitars with real
drums enhancing the four-way lead vocals.
Petra Zieger
Petra Zieger and her band have been touring all over Europe since 1983
so it no surprise to learn that the “Superfrau”
(Superwoman) with a massive repertoire of songs from 11 albums and 20
singles knows how to get an audience eating out of her hand.
Petra Ziege is a welcome face on many TV shows and was invited last
year to perform her (then) latest single on the Jose Carreras ARD TV
gala. One of the band’s silver jubilee highlights will be, apart
from performing at the IFA Summer Garden of course, a live performance
at the “Goldene Henne” media awards on 17th September in
Berlin’s Friedrichstadtpalast.
Tuesday, 2 September - 2.00 - 3.30 p.m.
Michael Morgan
Great concerts with an amazing atmosphere are one of MICHAEL
MORGAN’S many specialities. On stage he is a true professional in
harmony with his audience. His huge fan community rate him as being the
“male voice of Germany” and with his full-range of vocals
styles it is plain to hear why he has accrued such an accolade.
Hot Banditoz
In 2004 their first single “Veo Veo” from the “Mini
Disco” album reached number three in the German charts. Other top
ten hits include “Shake your Balla” ,“ La Cucaracha
Dance” and „Que Si, Que No“ which was a summer hit
last year.
But who are the Hot Banditoz? Dancing at the front are Brazilian
Fernanda and Gabriela who rock the house to the ground. The girls are
complemented by a young gentleman who goes by the name of Silva.
They already have two top fifty albums (“Mini Disco” and
“Bodyshaker”) and are aiming high with their sights not
just on national success. Let the carnival begin and take a trip to
South America in the IFA Summer Garden.
Rosonna Rocci
ROSANNA ROCCI knows how to win over an audience with her
romantic ballads and spirited songs. The blond virtuoso oozes an on
stage vitality from the word go until the bitter end – she feels
what she sings and she sings what she feels. Rosanna Rocci sings in
both Italian and German and besides the obvious musical talent also has
the good looks and character to go with it.
Wednesday, 3 September - 2.00 - 3.30 p.m.
Fernando Express
Fernando Express have been touring in and out of Central Europe since 1982 averaging 130 gigs and 80,000 kilometres a year.
After a break on the road they have completed their current LP
“Sonnentaucher” (Sun Diver) which consists of 12 summer
songs about love, holidays, desire and hope. Their music has a
Mediterranean flair – brilliant songs for wonderful evenings and,
of course, afternoons in the IFA Summer Garden!
Linda Feller
Her greatest success was an invite in 1998 to the home of
country music – the Grand ole Opry in Nashville Tennessee. Her
legendary performance was the first by a German female artist and part
of a Nashville produced TV show “COUNTRY HERZ - Einmal Nashville
& zurück".
Linda Feller has released over 23 albums of Country, Schlager and
Pop music and built up a solid fan base since the mid-eighties. Her
current release is “Liebe ist wie ein Haus” (Love is like a
house).
