And the winner is...

Purus Award for outstanding design presented at CMS for the third time

This year marks the occasion of the third presentation of the CMS Purus Award. Presented by Messe Berlin GmbH, this prize for outstanding design has been awarded to exhibitors at CMS — Cleaning. Management. Services. since 2005, and has already gained a reputation as the Oscar of the cleaning trade. Chaired by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Falk Höhn of FH Hannover, a panel comprising five judges based their decisions on role model nature, functional quality, usefulness, presentation and styling. The Purus Award was presented in four categories at the reception held for exhibitors on Wednesday evening. The winners were:

Category 1: Machines


Alfred Kärcher GmbH & Co KG, represented by Managing Director Markus Asch, for the compact BR30 — 4C scrubber-drier.


Category 2: Equipment



Vikan GmbH, represented by Sales Head Derk Brumma, for the Ergoclean “superbly adjustable” telescopic handle.


Category 3: Sanitary equipment



CWS-boco Deutschland GmbH, represented by Ralf Bolte, Sales Head FM Nord and Dr. Maren Otte, Head of Communication, for the ParadiseLine designer range of dispensers.

Category 4: Management solutions



Tana Chemie GmbH, represented by Joachim Steinbiß, Managing Director, International Tana Chemie, for the Cleaning Management training DVD.

 

CMS Purus Award 2009

Following the positive response Messe Berlin presents the third CMS Purus Award, a seal of quality for good design conferred to participants of CMS 2009 - Cleaning. Management. Services.

The entry forms and information for your participation in CMS Purus Award 2009 will be available in spring 2009.

 

For the exhibitors at CMS good design has become an important symbol of quality and an aid to competitiveness when comparisons are being made at an international level. The organisers of the CMS have recognised this trend and have enhanced this trade show by including yet another feature to attract attention. The invitation to compete for the Purus Award gives exhibitors a platform for submitting evidence of their innovativeness and their exemplary capabilities to a jury of acknowledged experts. With this addition to its programme the CMS gives added emphasis to its claim to be the leading trade show for the industry.

To make it easier to compare different entries, the various exhibitor sectors have been organized according to a special award categories. Participants can register their entries in one of the following categories:

  • Machines for cleaning and extended infrastructural services
  • Equipment and materials for cleaning and extended infrastructural services
  • Cleaning and care products and industrial hygiene products
  • Plant and equipment (hardware, software and uniforms) 

In assessing the nominations for the Purus Award the jury was bound by the specified assessment criteria: the quality of the function and utility as the fundamentals of all product development, augmented in this case by design factors that set the standards, and by excellent presentation.
