Temporary protection of designs and trademarks is provided during CMS 2009 on the basis of § 15 Geschmacksmusterschutzgesetz (Registered Designs Law), § 35 Markengesetz (Trademark Law) and the Official Notice of 21 December 2006. If an exhibitor presents a novel item during the fair, the first day of display at the fair is decisive in determining the priority of the application for protection for trademarks and designs for this novel item, provided that the application is submitted within a period of 6 months from the first day of the fair.
Important: This priority cannot be claimed in the case of patents.
Messe Berlin can provide an exhibition certificate, which can be downloaded here shortly before the show starts. The fair management will authenticate the completed exhibition certificate at the venue. Please note that Messe Berlin cannot offer any legal advice. Specialist advice from an attorney is strongly recommended.
