Dirk Ebbighausen, age 31, is manager, strategic e-commerce projects, for Lufthansa German Airlines in Frankfurt, Germany. He was appointed to this position in November of 2009 and is responsible for the evolution of lufthansa.com in terms of design, content and functionalities.
Before joining the head office, Mr. Ebbighausen was manager, online marketing & e-commerce, Asia and Pacific, in the airline's area management in Singapore. He established a general focus and understanding of the online topic in the local sales offices, and reached excellent results by doubling the online sales share across the APAC region between 2007 and 2009. Prior to this assignment, Mr. Ebbighausen was responsible for online marketing in the United States (between 2004-07), based in Lufthansa's regional headquarters in New York.
Mr. Ebbighausen began his career with Lufthansa in 2002 in the corporate communications department in New York. Before joining the airline industry and throughout his studies, he worked as a freelancer for a number of advertising agencies in Frankfurt, Germany.
Mr. Ebbighausen holds a University Diploma in applied media science from the Institute of Journalism and Communication Research in Hanover, Germany.
