Purus Award for outstanding design presented at CMS for the fourth time
Record numbers competing for the CMS Purus Design Award 2011!
The CMS 2011 represents the fourth time that Messe Berlin has invited all exhibitors to compete with their products and developments in five product categories for the Purus Award. This design prize for the cleaning industry has attracted very active participation and a further rise in the number of applications has been reported since it was last held.
For the first time entries for the Purus Award, with its new logo, are also being invited in the category of Packaging Design. The deadline for submissions was 25 May 2011.
The first stage in the adjudication process has recently been completed and the judges did not have an easy task in selecting the shortlist for the second round, because the many entries received exceeded the numbers and the quality that had been anticipated by the judges.
The judges had to choose the finalists from a wide range of effectively functioning, innovative and design-oriented products, before assessing the original products in the second round of their deliberations. The range of cleaning products, equipment and technology that have been submitted for assessment is wide and varied, which is why Messe Berlin has invited entries for the CMS Purus Award 2011 in five categories for the first time.
The following entries have been selected for the final round of the competition:
“SmartOne Mini Double” toilet paper system, Georgia-Pacific Deutschland GmbH
“TORK Performance” dispenser systems, SCA Hygiene Products AFH Sales GmbH
Immediately prior to the CMS 2011 a panel will select the winners in a second round of voting. Qualified designer Dietmar Mühr, founder and general manager of PLEX GmbH (Berlin) member of the board of IDZ Internationales Design Zentrum Berlin e.V., was elected chairman of the panel of judges. The winners will be acknowledged during the first day of the fair at the opening ceremonies. All 14 of the entries that made the final round can be seen in a special show during the CMS
(Hall 2.2, Stand 220).

Following the positive response Messe Berlin presented the fourth CMS Purus Award, a seal of quality for good design conferred to participants of CMS 2011 - Cleaning. Management. Services.
For the exhibitors at CMS good design has become an important symbol of quality and an aid to competitiveness when comparisons are being made at an international level. The invitation to compete for the Purus Award gives exhibitors a platform for submitting evidence of their innovativeness and their exemplary capabilities to a jury of acknowledged experts. With this addition to its programme the CMS gives added emphasis to its claim to be the leading trade show for the industry.
To make it easier to compare different entries, the various exhibitor sectors have been organized according to a special award categories. Participants can register their entries in one of the following categories:
